One monkey off my back, one still on

I’ve forgotten to wear my wedding rings twice this week, and even with that I find my finger itchy! I’ll put some lotion on it tonight and see how it goes.

I’m trying not to stress today, but it’s time to schedule our yearly physicals and prescription renewal. No one wants to see us and give us prescriptions for a year’s worth of meds; it’s just not done! I’m only asking for allergy meds so it’s not like it’s some crazy drug, but that’s the brakes of living on the road. I also need to find out how to get mail here so we can get our last dosage of the old prescription sent. I know stressing isn’t good, but it’s also not easy to just turn that stress off. I’m giving it to God, but then I take it back! Not good!

We did school today, and while Jack had a break I made doctor’s office calls. I was scrupulously honest and told them that we travel, would be here a month, need physicals and prescriptions, and asked if I could make an appointment. Both of the 2 calls said I should try urgent cares. All 4 urgent cares said they’d prescribe the allergy meds but not the 1 other med I need. Back to school.

When school and lunch were over Jack and I set out to find Betsy or the Post Office, and to see how we get mail here. She gave us the address and said FedEx and UPS are no problem, but USPS may get held at the PO, or it may go to the Rec Center, so if we have a tracking number it’s best. It seems there’s a small possibility if we let our mail sit too long at the PO that it may get sent back, but she’s not sure that’s ever happened. So I’ll order our meds and keep an eye on the tracking, and go pick it up as soon as it gets here. Yea! One monkey off my back.

I felt like taking a break and Max is folding clothes at home so Jack and I browsed the BX and Commissary. I found some good hot cheese Ted and I have been looking for for the last 2 weeks, so that’s nice. I went home and made sausage sandwiches for supper, put the boys to bed, and ordered our meds.

Oh, yeah, I also talked to Mom and they’re hoping to come here toward the end of the month. They’ll arrive here just in time to watch Max take his finals. I’ll have to see if there’s some way to move those up without too much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
