This morning the internet guy came by to set us up. Ted is kicking himself for not doing this earlier, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. For lunch Max made us a caprese salad with our leftover mozzarella and tomatoes, while I made sandwiches and nachos for our main meal.
We went to Downtown Disney where I found the scarf Jo wants, Max got his new lightsaber, I checked out the lost and found situation on my earring, and the boys went to the LEGO store for a bit. Ted was able to find a Boba Fett shirt and a pew pew mug that he loved, so he finally got his gift from Mom and Jo.
On the way home we stopped at Walmart and got a big tub of chocolate ice cream. We sent Max in with some money for it, and Ted and I talked about what’s next on the agenda with his mom. These talks are never fun. I don’t like being an adult at these times, and neither does Ted!
When we got back home we sent the boys out to play while Ted talked to his mom to get the lay of the land. We were planning on fixing up the internet before the boys came back in, but it got so windy and the skies were so dark that we ended up bringing in the boys and the hammock and cleaning all the toys out of the yard. After we finished up the internet mess we watched the next two movies on our Avengers’ list and had popcorn and sandwiches for supper. When Jack got bored with our movie we set him up on our bed with his movie.
Ted and I are continuing our Sudoku challenge. I’m having a lot of fun, but that may just be because I’m doing better in general than he is.
I slept till my alarm ring at 8:20, and then started getting everyone up. I saw when I raised the blinds that they’d moved the trailer! Hallelujah!
Ted left for his lunch at Chipotle with Eddie. I hope he has a good time! The boys and I had the last of the kale salad and baked potatoes. We watched The Carbonaro Effect while we ate.
When Ted came home we had a nap, and then we all left at 3:45 for Disney. Max and Jack went to get a DAS at Soarin, then to Club Cool for Cokes. Ted and I went to Mouse Gear to see about Jo’s scarf and to see if they could find anything to spend his money on. We didn’t have any luck, so we met the boys at Club Cool where Max got a blue birthday slushie. We all walked to China and Japan to see if I could find any gifts for my girls.
We realized as we headed out of the Lands that our Spaceship Earth fast pass had been changed to a generic fast pass; this worked out better for us, honestly. We got in line to ride Test Track, and the line was so super long! While we were in line Jack said oh my gosh so loud, and with such a long pause in the beginning of the last word that we all wondered how he was going to finish it! When we finally finished Test Track we went to Mars with our generic fast pass. I guess these are the only rides we’re going to do here our last time at Epcot; our last day at Disney!
The boys went back to Club Cool to get a last birthday slushie, and I went to China to buy the bags I decided on. We stopped for some photos on our way out of Disney for the last time.
We had thought we would eat supper at Epcot, but nothing was really calling us. We decided to go to Smokey Bones tonight, and it was pretty good. Ted got his usual burger with a fried egg on top, Max and Jack each got cheeseburgers and Max upgraded his fries to loaded french fries. I got the ribs with broccoli and a baked potato. My ribs were good and my veggies will be a good meal for another day.
We went home and went to bed. Ted thinks he’s getting sick!
For lunch after church I cooked the last of the kale, and we had that with sandwiches and some Fancy Yancey’s hatch chile cheddar. That stuff is so creamy!
After my nap and setting up the boys for their supper I left early to pick up Ted at the airport, and talked to Jo a long time. Ted and I went to Toasted for our supper date, where we both split the Southern Comfort (cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, housemade bbq sauce, mac and cheese) and the Angry Burger (chipotle cheddar, charred jalapenos, sweet tea, caramelized onions, sriracha). We ordered rosemary fries which were awesome and macaroni and cheese which was just okay. They also had regular fountain drinks, and a few fancy fountain drinks. I had set the boys up with the last of the pizza, oranges, and cheese and crackers for supper.
When we were halfway finished eating Max called with a shituation! I walked him through how to take care of it; I hope one day this won’t be part of our lives! When we were finished eating we went to Publix to look for some Cokes, and ended up going to Walmart for Cokes and groceries. Close to home I exited the toll road and the guy ahead of me was super indecisive and slow. At the last minute he changed lanes cutting in front of me, so I went to change lanes right behind him and ended up hitting a flexible divider! I’m so glad it was flexible!
At home we started to watch Stranger Things, but about 20 minutes into the first episode we realized that we have this season out of order.
We were those people at Disney who didn’t follow the rules today! There weren’t good directions about where to park so we ended up parking where we normally do, while everybody else was heading off to a distant parking lot. I checked out the nearby parked cars to make sure there wasn’t something specifically on each of theirs, and we look to be in the clear. I guess we’ll see when we get back!
I went through the bag line and the boys went around and waited for me; seems like there’s a big crowd today. I headed straight to get a DAS for Test Track while the boys waited to meet me at Soarin. When I asked for a DAS the guy knew which people were going on the ride and I finally realized that it’s because there are only three of us in the park; they know that because we scanned our bands at the front gate. When I asked him if that was how he knew he said no, he could just read minds and he knew which people I wanted to go on the ride. He made me laugh so much! Then as I turned away and was telling him I wish I knew how to read minds I ran into a woman who’d pushed her stroller about 2″ from my leg. I wish I had read her mind!
We rode Soarin and The Land, and then at 12:30 the boys and I parted ways.
I gave Max $20 for ice cream for each of them and a Coke to split. I walked around a bit and then got a Coke Zero and asked in Germany about the mac and cheese. When they said it was on the crispy side I walked to the nearby stand and got the fondue. I was sitting there having a nice, quiet time eating and looking at the lake when Max called me for help. They hadn’t gone any farther than the ice cream shop, but their ice cream was melting all over the place and was making a huge mess! Heh. I walked less than a minute to where they were and Jack was just covered, it had dripped all down his shirt and is all over his shoes. I sent Max to a nearby restroom to clean himself up and then I used all my wetties to wipe Jack down enough that he could finish his ice cream. Max came back calmed down and ate the rest of his super melty ice cream. He’d asked for cups thinking that they’d be neater, but you know how they overfill ice cream cups, and how fast ice cream melts in the heat!
We all finished eating and then I sent them off to the Ralph playground while I walked through the Norway and Mexico lands.
When it was time we rode Test Track and then skipped our Spaceship Earth fast pass and went home. I made us a big kale salad with avocado and garbanzos and a lot of other stuff.
Max played his electronics before asking me this morning, and lost his cool when I asked him about it, so I had him put up all the dishes and make both their breakfasts. After they ate and we all got dressed Max and I rolled out some sheets of chocolate bread and baked them while Jack played outside. Max cut out some house shapes when the cookies were cool.
I made caprese sandwiches for lunch and they were ok, but not exceptional. I’ll have to work on that.
Max’s new game finally finished downloading at noon, so he played that for a bit before we left. I had a plan on how to fit most stuff in, but Ted called when I was driving so that messed with my plans a bit. In all we stayed at the Primeval playground for a while, rode Primeval Whirl (which Max liked more this time, and Jack’s bar didn’t unlock at the end!), saw the birds fly overhead, missed Finding Nemo, and skipped Everest and Avatar. By the time we got the DAS for Avatar we’d have had to kill around 3 hours to ride it, and there’s just not that much to see there when you’ve been to Animal Kingdom as often as we have. It’s a good problem to have, and we still have one more chance to see it!
