Netty came and hugged me after church! Then we met up at the playground while our kids played and we talked and talked. It’s so much fun making new friends!
After I gave the boys lunch I went to the bed and then when he was finished eating Jack napped with me. I’ll probably stop making him regularly take a nap since he’s proven that he can be quiet when I’m napping; but since he was sick Friday (his eyes were so red that night!) I figured a nap was in order.
When I got up I sent the boys to the playground and then made a new cake I came across the other day. You put mandarin oranges in the batter, and mix pudding, pineapple and whipped cream together for the frosting. I thought it would be a light cake, but I did give it more frosting than called for and it was pretty heavy, so I weighed it. 4.755lbs!!!! Heh.
After our nap Jack got out of bed before me. I saw when I got up that he’d eaten a bunch of the frosting off the cake! Little devil!
I’ve stuck to my one-meal-a-day plan and it’s going well. The first day I didn’t eat anything until about 3:30, the next day it was about 4:30, and today I waited till even closer to 5pm. I haven’t noticed anything on the scale, but really, it’s only been a few days. The other reason I think I’m hanging out at 140 since the DC trip is that I haven’t been drinking much water when I’m not eating. I realized that this morning, but then didn’t want to drink during the service, and didn’t want to drink a lot just before a nap…so I’ll start tomorrow. It hasn’t been hard at all to not eat lunch, and I think a big part of that is reframing it in my head as I’m not going without, I’m just delaying my desires. I haven’t even really felt hungry. I know a lot of my eating is more that I like the taste of food than that I’m hungry. I want our family to eat meals together so I eat lunch and supper with them, but once I start eating I just don’t want to stop. It seems easier for me to not eat than to curb what I do eat. We’ll see how this goes.
This is another day that WordPress ate, but I actually left the house this day. I set the boys up and then went to Goodwill Outlet where my haul at 85 cents included: 1 small drawstring bag, 1 cute Liz Claiborne zip bag, 1 Turkish rug zip bag, 1 tiny Chinese snap bag, 1 Mickey Mouse keychain and a linen shirt. Woot!
I hit up Dollar Tree for a wire brush for my suede bag but there were only huge ones, so I’ll try another DT later. I went to WM for groceries for the week and then talked to Mom on the phone while I was shopping so I missed getting the cool whip for a new cake recipe I want to try out. I went to Food Lion for cokes and got the cool whip there. Then home.
I think it was yesterday that I started a new way of eating…one meal a day. I’m curious how this will go. I’ve joined a FB board about this and that’s giving me encouragement to try it.
There WordPress, was that so hard?!
Here’s a photo of Jack hiding under my covers.
Well WordPress ate my stupid post and I’m so annoyed. I put more than just a title up, but somehow pasting my post from Simplenote isn’t enough. When I post and add pictures I get an actual post. When I post with no pictures the content I’ve pasted gets deleted. Ugh.
It’s Wednesday the 11th now and there really wasn’t that much going on this day; I’m glad if WP was going to eat some posts it only ate this one and tomorrow’s.
I took the boys to the pool around 10:30 this morning. It wasn’t as hot as I feared in the shade of the umbrella, thankfully. I was surprised at how long Max was happy to stay; I guess we left around 12:15.
I’m starting a new thing…intermittent fasting. I’ve been skipping breakfast for a good while now (unless something special is on the menu), so I think I’ll try to get close to one meal a day. Today I’m planning on not eating until 3pm. We’ll see how this goes.
I took a long nap after the boys ate lunch, and am finally getting my blog back up to date. I’m also trying to juggle meeting up with Laura and Nan, and Nichole F as well. And when I was looking up Laura’s address I saw that Andy and Kristine live just a couple of houses over!!! I wonder if she still lives there?
I had Max help me measure the height of the bus again today. It’s a couple of inches taller with the booster on the ladder, and I can’t find where I wrote down the height. It’s 12′ 6″, and I’ve got it in my bus notes now. Julie said they had a scare going under an overpass that was only about 2″ taller than they were. Ugh! Now that we’re in the east we really need to pay closer attention.
